MEDICAL EXAM ROOM
Through a partnership with St. Mary's Hospital, medical exams for children who have experienced sexual abuse can be completed at Holly's House.
When sexual abuse is identified, it is important for a child to have a medical exam. This exam is simply a head to toe physical similar to what would occur at a doctor's office. The medical staff that come to Holly's House have special training related to child sexual abuse - if evidence of abuse is identified, the medical staff can document their findings. More, important, however, is that the child and their caregiver have assurance about the child's health and receive treatment for any concerns that may be identified. If a child is going to need a medical exam at Holly's House, this service can be scheduled by the Department of Child Services staff member or Law Enforcement officer. |
