Holly’s House is constantly striving to connect our community with our mission and enhance understanding of our services. One incredibly powerful way to do this is by sharing a personal story from a client who has been helped in some way by our services.
As advocates for victims of intimate crimes, we understand that sharing your story is a very personal decision and not one we expect most people to make. If you are interested in helping us further community awareness and understanding of our services by sharing a testimonial, however, we would be extremely grateful.

If you are interested in providing comments about your experiences with Holly’s House, please review the following guidelines about our testimonial process:
- We will not share your photo, your name, or other details that may identify you, without your express permission.
- When we describe the source of the comments, we will only refer to:
- The general reason you or your family member needed Holly's House services
- Your role (i.e. “survivor of sexual violence” or “parent of a child who experienced abuse”)
- Your gender (if relevant to the testimonial or comments).
- Many members of the public do not realize that these types of crimes also occur against males. Thus, testimonials from a male survivor can be very powerful in helping to overcome this misperception.
- Your age when you received (or first received) assistance from Holly's House. This does not need to be a specific age, but it may be helpful to know if services were received as a child or adult or how many years have passed since you worked with Holly’s House.
- You will not be asked to share intimate details of why you were working with our agency. We are mostly interested in the quality of the services you received and how your or your family’s situation improved after working with our agency.
- Before any of your comments are published, you will be given the opportunity to review them. If you approve, Holly’s House may use the testimonial or comments the following ways:
- Inclusion in agency brochures and other marketing materials
- Quoted in requests for program funding or grant proposals
- Posted on the agency website and other social media platforms
At the end of the form, we have included a section for you to authorize permission for Holly's House to use your testimonial or comments. You will also be provided an opportunity in the form to indicate any restrictions that you would like to place on how your story is shared.

"It was a terribly sensitive issue that was terrifying to all of my family, but the minute we walked through the doors it wasn't quite as scary anymore. … We were able to be connected with resources available (for my son) as long as he needed them. He has since started (middle school) and is thriving." |
"Holly's House was my saving grace during my greatest time of need. The staff provided a safe environment, in which I could report my abuser. Two years later, Holly's House continues to play an integral role in my healing by providing safety, compassion, and professional resources." |
"Two years ago, I was a girl that Holly's House helped … I enjoyed being there. All of you helped me mentally and I appreciate that. … You're wonderful people that help kids in need and I hope you are known for your greatness. Thanks for all your help." |
